About Me

Honey is the sweetest girl, hence her name! She absolutely loves getting pets and pats and scratchies and her favorite things to play with are pipe cleaners bent into different shapes as well as her unicorn flyer toy! She also loves watching birds out of the window and making that lil “eek eek” noise. She is definitely a little shy when she first meets someone and she will run and hide somewhere when the doorbell rings. But when she does come around she is a very sweet and gentle cat. She’s not pushy with cuddles, and usually likes to stay around your legs rather than cuddling up near your face. I have never seen her around a dog before so I don’t know how she would do, but she definitely does good around other cats and children.  Overall she is a very sweet and silly lil girl, and very food motivated! We are a military family and are moving overseas so we unfortunately can’t take her with us. We are heartbroken since she’s really a part of our family, but we would be happy to see her going to a good home that loves her just as much as we have! If we can’t find a home for her through here by about mid-May we will have to surrender her to SimplyCats.

Special Needs / Preferences

Honey has Feline Herpesvirus which is common in cats and she was most likely born with it through her mom (she was born a stray). It is contagious only to other cats. She does show symptoms of it when it gets triggered by “stressful” events (such as moving). She usually gets watery eyes and will start sneezing and may get a red spot on the side of her mouth. She has responded well to a Lysine supplement sprinkled in her food to help. She will also have the vaccine administered that helps reduce the risk of flare ups as of April 30th.  It is not very severe in adult cats but could be more of a concern for kittens.
