Why Adopt from Simply Cats?
Because we are an organization that does not euthanize for space, by adopting a feline from Simply Cats, you save a life and make room for us to accept another cat!
In addition, all cats adopted from us have been:
- spayed or neutered
- treated for internal and external parasites
- microchipped
- tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FeLV)
- fully vaccinated, or will be, as part of the adoption fee.
Also available with the adoption is a food sample, toys & blanket, and educational handouts on a variety of topics.
Because Simply Cats’ commitment to all cats entrusted to us is to make sure they remain out of harm’s way, we ask that you keep your new feline indoors. Also, Simply Cats is committed to reducing cat overpopulation through spaying and neutering. Therefore, no cats will be adopted from the shelter until they have been spayed or neutered.
- Adoption Process
We offer adoptions by appointment only. To start the adoption process, please complete our Potential Adopter Questionnaire. We try to make the adoption process as easy as possible, however, it is our goal to find these animals forever homes, so you are asked to complete our Potential Adopter Questionnaire. In addition, we utilize the ASPCA’s Meet Your Match™ Feline-ality™ program to assist adopters in finding the right cat for their lifestyle. This program also includes a brief survey. To complete your Meet Your Match survey and complete the Potential Adopter Questionnaire, please START HERE
These forms will be good for 30 days. After 30 days, you will need to resubmit them. We sometimes receive multiple applicants for a specific cat, we review them all, and will contact you if we need more information, or the cat is still available.
We reserve the right to refuse any adoption if, in our opinion, the best interest of the animal would not be served, or to make recommendations to consider another selection, if we feel there may be a more suitable match. Must be 18 or older to apply.- Kitten Adoptions
Adopting kittens in pairs
At Simply Cats, we advocate for kittens to be adopted in pairs,
or into homes with a compatible, playful, young cat.WHY?
Adopting in pairs:
• supports healthy development and socialization
• reduces the potential for behavioral issues
• reduces loneliness when their person is away
• reduces play aggression
• provides comfort during their adjustment period into a new home- Adoption Fees
Kittens (up to the age of 6 months) - $90
Adults (over 6 months up to 9 years) - $80
Seniors (10 years and over) - $35
Pure Bred Cats* (any age)
*Though purebred cats make up a small percentage of cats relinquished to us, they tend to have the most specific needs. Because of this, it can take us more time to find the perfect match with an adopter, hence our adoption fee for pure bred cats is higher than our usual fees. In addition, pure bred cats are exempt from any special or promotional adoption fees offered by our facility.Senior for seniors - $25
Pets for Vets (adult cat) - $50- Return Policy
While we strive to make matches that last the cat’s lifetime, we recognize that there may come a time when someone feels they must return an adopted cat. If this situation arises, we first encourage you to contact our Adoption Team at (208) 343-7177, for assistance with behavioral issues you are having with the cat. If you still feel you need to return a cat to us, you must submit an online intake request. All adopted cats are subject to the same intake criteria as any other cats accepted into our facility. All returns must be approved and scheduled.
Should you return a cat after adoption, the adoption fee will not be refunded. All returns will be subject to a surrender fee upon return of the cat.
