Crisis Care Program
Our Crisis Care Program offers short-term foster care for owned cats whose families are navigating a temporary crisis. We understand that unexpected life events can create difficult choices, and our goal is to provide a safe bridge so families can stay together. When the placement period ends, cats are reunited with their owners.

- How Crisis Care Works
1. Application
Owners complete the online application. Submission does not guarantee placement. Applications are reviewed based on eligibility and current capacity.2. Application Review
If the request meets eligibility criteria and space is available, staff will contact the owner to discuss next steps and schedule intake.3. Intake Appointment
At intake, cats receive a basic exam, vaccinations as appropriate, disease testing, and parasite control. The owner signs the Crisis Care Agreement and submits the required deposit.4. Foster Placement
Cats are placed in a trained foster home for a time-limited term of up to 90 days. Owners are required to complete a check-in every 21 days and maintain current contact information. Monthly financial care contributions apply during placement.5. Reunification
Owners must reclaim their cat by the agreed-upon end date.- Basic Eligibility Requirements
Cats must:
• Be spayed or neutered
• Be safe to handle
• Not exhibit aggressive behavior
• Be free of skin lesions (such as ringworm)
• Test negative for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV)- Financial Information
The program includes:
• $100 refundable deposit
• $50 monthly care contributionHardship waivers may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Communication & Expectations
Owners must:
• Complete required check-ins every 21 days
• Maintain current contact information
• Reclaim their cat by the agreed-upon end date
